Halloween is coming soon like a maniac with an extremely large, sharp-bladed object, and what screams “scary season” these days more than “Stranger Things”?
Priah Ferguson, aka young spitfire Erica Sinclair on the hit series, teams up with Marlon Wayans and takes on monstrous beings – here and now rather than upside down – in Netflix’s comedy horror “The Curse of Bridge Hollow” (aired Oct. 14). The trailer for the family creeps show debuts exclusively on usatoday.com.
But that’s just one of many scary fests perfect for horror fiends and others who love miscellaneous bumps in the night. While you’re stressing about this year’s costume and weighing in real size or having fun with your candy bars, here are 15 new movies to get ready for Halloween:

“Good Night Mom” (September 16)
In a remake of an excellent Austrian horror movie, Naomi Watts is the bandaged housewife recovering from surgery that scares her twins enough to make them wonder if she’s another woman.

‘Pearl’ (September 16)
Ti West’s 1970s chiller “X” introduced a killer elderly villain to Pearl (Mia Goth), and it’s the prequel origin story, set in 1918 and centered on the main character wishing for a life of movie star while living on the farm with a sick dad and an ultra-devout mom.

“The Munsters” (September 27)
Rob Zombie digs up the beloved 1960s sitcom family for a horror-comedy about the blossoming romance between Herman (Jeff Daniel Phillips) and Lily (Sheri Moon Zombie) – much to the chagrin of her dad, The Count (Daniel Roebuck) .

‘Hocus Pocus 2’ (September 30)
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy return as the Sanderson witch sisters in the sequel to the ’90s cult classic, which finds a group of youngsters in Salem trying to foil the trio’s magical chicanery.

“My Best Friend’s Exorcism” (September 30)
Based on the book by Grady Hendrix, the ’80s horror-comedy centers on best friends Abby (Elsie Fisher) and Gretchen (Amiah Miller). When they venture to the site of a ritual sacrifice, Gretchen becomes possessed and Abby goes to extreme lengths to help her boyfriend.

“Smile” (September 30)
Sosie Bacon stars in the psychological thriller as a doctor investigating the reasons behind a bizarre tragedy involving her patient, and afterward, she is haunted by a series of equally bizarre circumstances.

‘M. Harrigan’s Phone (October 5)
by Stephen King novel of the “If It Bleeds” collection is the inspiration behind a teenager’s coming-of-age story (“This” star Jaeden Martell), the dying billionaire (Donald Sutherland) he befriends, and the iPhone that connects them from beyond the grave.

‘Hellraiser’ (October 7)
In a reimagining of the 1987 film Clive Barker, a young drug addict (Odessa A’zion) comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box that summons a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension and their leader, Pinhead (Jamie Clayton).

‘Piggy’ (October 7)
Equally bloody and rambling, the indie Spanish coming-of-age thriller stars Laura Galán as a bullied teenager who finds herself in a pickle: help her kidnapped bullies or side with the serial killer for whom she feels an affinity and an attraction.

Teenage Sydney (Priah Ferguson) reluctantly teams up with her Halloween-hating dad (Marlon Wayans) to save their town when she accidentally releases an evil spirit that causes all the decorations to dangerously come to life.

When a global increase in possessions leads the Catholic Church to rethink a ban on nuns performing exorcisms, Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers) trains in spiritual warfare and is put on the case of a girl inhabited by the same demon that tormented his mother.

‘Run Sweetheart Run’ (October 28)
