Alia Bhatt loved Ranveer’s performance in ’83 and took to Instagram to appreciate it. She wrote: “Phew! 83! Kabir Sir, I have so many things to say and yet I have no words. This is not a film that can be locked in a post with a few adjectives! C It’s an experience – part of the story it’s nothing short of magical! There were so many times when I wanted to clap, shout, scream and dance all at the same time! Pride, joy, unity, friendship, inspiration, I mean the list can go on. You come out a different person after watching this beautiful beautiful movie (sic).”
Talking about Ranveer’s performance, she said, “What do I mean? What are you? Some kind of awesome mix wrapped in a magic-charged feeling sprinkled with seconds. I I already told you – your eyes are changing!” !!!! You don’t act, you live the character! I can’t, I can’t, please go to sleep for years so we can all catch up on your shine! Karan was also very impressed with 83 and shared a long note on Instagram. He wrote: “It is not easy to tell a true story, a true account of a milestone event in Indian sports history! There is no room for cinematic licensing and distortion of facts for dramatic impact, which is exactly why #83thefilm is such a monumental achievement It sucks you in that year, that World Cup, that team, that political climate, that crazy fandom frenzy I saw myself supporting every single member of this historic team Laugh and cry with each of them I saw myself supporting Kabir Khan and his maestro storytelling ability. Taking a daunting task and perfecting it like a methodical mega master! Hi! I saw myself believing that @ ranveersingh had morphed into Legend Kapil Dev with the ease and genius of a bona fide veteran! He’s so good it’s almost unbelievable in so many ways! Suniel Shetty enjoyed Ranveer’s transformation and wrote, “I went to see @RanveerOfficial at number 83. Couldn’t spot him. There was only #KapilDev on screen. Incredible transformation.
