Annu Kapoor was in France when her valuables were stolen. The actor was on tour when the incident happened. Annu then took to Instagram to share her story and warn her fans and followers about pickpockets. After the Vicky Donor star revealed what happened to her, filmmaker Hansal Mehta also opened up about her similar experience in France.

Known for having played several notable roles in Hindi cinema, Annu Kapoor was on vacation in France. His journey became unpleasant when he was robbed. Taking to Instagram, the actor shared what exactly happened. Speaking in Hindi, Annu said, “Paris mein, Prada ka bag chori karke le gaye, usme bohot sara franc cash and euros rakha hua tha, mera iPad, diary, credit card tha. Sab kuch chori karke le gaye, toh France me jab aao to bohot khayal rakhna.(My Prada bag which contained my credit card, my diary, cash in francs and euros and an iPad was stolen. They stole everything, so every time you visit the France, be very careful.)
He added: “Ek number ke jeb katre, makkar aur chor log hain. Abhi Paris me jaake police station complain likhwaunga, yaha k walon railway no thora support kiya aur bola ki sath chalenge. Toh bohot saavdhan rahe yaha jab aaye, simple sath bohot badi tragedy ho gayi hai, thank god simple passport paas tha. (My Prada bag which contained my credit card, my diary, money in francs and euros and an iPad was stolen. They stole everything, so whenever you visit France, be very careful. These people are big thieves. I am now going to a police station in Paris to file a complaint. Some railway workers supported me a little and told me that they were going to accompany me there. So yes, be very careful here. A huge drama m arrived, thank God I at least had my passport).”
After watching Annu Kapoor’s video, filmmaker Hansal Mehta shared his own story of flying in France. Opening up about his own experience, he said he too faced a similar fate. His money and cards were stolen and he had no more money to return to his hotel and while taking his two little girls.
In a long tweet, Hansal Mehta wrote: “I saw a video of Annu Kapoor sir who had his valuables and possessions looted in France. I had a similar experience at the Louvre Museum where my wallet was retrieved and I was literally stuck with no money, debit or credit cards. More than anything else, you feel terribly violated (sic).”

He further added in another tweet, “I had my little girls with me and had to frantically call my wife to pick us up as we had no way to pay for our trip back to our hotel. Rest of the trip, a family vacation was ruined due to the anxiety and inconvenience caused by this theft. The cards were blocked (sic).

In the latest thread, the filmmaker warned to beware in France. “And totally worthless/useless to the thief. There was hardly any money. Moral of the story: in France, beware of being robbed like this. India is often unnecessarily slandered (sic ).”

WHAT’S ON THE WORK FRONT?
Annu Kapoor was last seen in the 2021 film Chehre starring Emraan Hashmi and Amitabh Bachchan. On the other hand, Hansal Mehta’s last project was Chhalaang in 2020.
