Black Widow’s Scarlett Johansson receives American Cinematheque Award

Scarlett Johansson, known for her role in Black Widow, recently received the American Cinematheque Award. She became the 35th recipient of the award. Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the awards ceremony also saw the presence of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who praised Scarlett for her talent, vision, intelligence and common sense. He also opened up about a “top secret Marvel Studios project” with her, which got fans excited. Feige revealed that Scarlett will also be on the next project as a producer. The actress is the first Marvel actor to have produced one of the studio’s films with Black Widow.
Kevin said: “Scarlett has lent her starry talent and power to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade. That she chose to play a key role there for so many years, I am extremely grateful to her. Working with her has truly been one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career.
Other people who have paid tribute to Scarlett Johansson include filmmaker Jon Favreau, her Jojo Rabbit co-star Thomasin McKenzie, late-night Andy Richter, actress Abbie Cornish, Jamie Lee Curtis, Hunter Johansson and stars of the MCU Sam Rockwell, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr. and Jeremy Renner.
Jon Favreau, who has worked with Scarlett on films such as Iron Man 2, Chef and The Jungle Book, congratulated her and said she was smart and funny. “Everyone who works with Scarlett wants to work with Scarlett. She’s dedicated and she always lets passion dictate what she does next, ”he said.
The other prize of the evening was the first Power of Cinema award, celebrating businesses that embrace storytelling as a means to promote social change. The award was presented to the participant, with the presentation of Oscar-winning filmmaker Tom McCarthy. The American Cinematheque Awards are an annual fundraiser for the nonprofit organization.
