Brahmastra 5 points: runtime, certification, expected day 1 collection
Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus, Brahmastra, after 5 years of preparation, is finally ready to be released! Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s starring hits the big screens on September 9, 2022. While the trailer and songs have created a buzz on social media, the makers are going the extra mile to ensure the film attracts national attention. With long distance tours to share previews of the film, they do it all. Even though #BoycottBrahmastra remains a growing trend on social media, it seems their promotion strategy worked, as Brahmastra got a good booking in advance.
Before you book that ticket, here are 5 things you need to know about Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva.
1. BRAHMASTRA GETS AN AU/A CERTIFICATE
Brahmastra received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Since the movie is trying to go the route of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this U/A certification will help appeal to younger audiences, thus guaranteeing better deals.
2. BRAHMASTRA WILL RELEASE IN 3D
It’s only fair that a movie like Brahmastra, which promises to be a visual spectacle, comes out in 3D, right? Brahmastra’s game VFX is strong, and from the looks of the trailer, it will only come to life in 3D.
3. 2 HOURS, 46 MIN, 54 SEC = TOTAL RUN TIME
According to reports, the runtime of Brahmastra is 2 hours, 46 minutes and 54 seconds. We already know that it is full of songs that would act as a buffer. Now, would that be too long for an OTT audience?
4. BRAHMASTRA AIMS AT Rs 20-25 CRORE DAY 1 COLLECTION
Brahmastra’s advance booking was good. So, according to trade analysts, the film is expected to open for anything between Rs 20-25 crore. And it’s a very good start. The rest should depend on word of mouth.
5. SPECIAL SESSION OF BRAHMASTRA ON SEPTEMBER 8
Ranbir, Ali and Ayan will host a special screening of Brahmastra in Mumbai just for the fans. And that would be one day before the theatrical release of the film, which is September 8th. Why the 8, you ask? Umm, because it’s Ranbir Kapoor and now Alia Bhatt’s lucky number.
