Covid-19 spoils Deepika Padukone’s birthday plans, Gehraiyaan event

Deepika Padukone celebrates her birthday today, January 5th. The actress had planned to share the trailer for her upcoming Gehraiyaan release on her birthday. However, due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in Mumbai, the plan had to be canceled. Besides Deepika Padukone, Gehraiyaan stars Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi.

GEHRAIYAAN EVENT CANCELED DUE TO INCREASED COVID CASES

An insider close to the project, on condition of anonymity, told IndiaToday, that Deepika and the cast of Gehraiyaan intend to take the media to Alibaug and for a small event on her birthday. At the event, the creators were expected to launch the trailer for Gehraiyaan. However, the plan was canceled and the team shared new posters for the film instead. “Deepika was really upset that they had to cancel the event. Gehraiyaan is very close to her heart and she was delighted to meet the media and talk about the film,” the insider tells us.

Not just Gehraiyaan, but many other Bollywood events in Mumbai are being pushed back or postponed due to the increase in Covid cases in the state. The buzz is that actor Allu Arjun, after the success of Pushpa, had to go down to Mumbai to meet the press. But, that too is canceled for the moment.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are celebrating her birthday in the Maldives.

GEHRAIYAAN MAKERS ANNOUNCES NEW RELEASE DATE

On the occasion of Deepika Padukone’s 36th birthday today, January 5th, the creators of Gehraiyaan released new posters of the film. Along with that, a new release date has also been quietly announced. The film, which was previously scheduled for release on January 25, has now been postponed. Gehraiyaan will now be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 11.

The posters were first shared by Birthday Girl Deepika Padukone. She wrote: “A little birthday present for all the love you have showered us with!” #GehraiyaanOnPrime releases February 11 (sic). ”

Gehraiyaan is directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Karan Johar, and stars Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi, in addition to Deepika Padukone.
