Happy Birthday Chiranjeevi: Revisiting Megastar’s Popular Dance Numbers
[ad_1]
Chiranjeevi is unquestionably one of the biggest names in the Telugu film industry. The veteran actor, who solidified his position in Tollywood in the 80s and early 90s, is considered a dancer par excellence. He has, over the years, ignited the dance floor many times with his ease. His energy level and flexibility are unmatched. On Monday, August 22, as Megastar turns 67, let’s take a look back at some of their popular dance numbers.
BANGARU KODI PETTA (GHARANA MOGUDU, 1992)
Chiranjeevi wowed fans with his raw and intense look as he had fun with Bangaru Kodi Petta in cult hit Gharana Mogudu. His cool moves became a rage among fans and left them begging for more. Bangaru Kodi Petta was later reused in Magadheera (2009), which starred Ram Charan.
NADAKA KALISINA (HITLER, 1997)
Chiru and the lovely Rambha made a terrific couple in Hitler. The actress’ elegance complimented Megastar’s dashing screen presence and helped Nadaka Kalisina make a splash. Hitler was a remake of Mammootty’s Malayalam film of the same name. The Telugu version was directed by Muthyala Subbaiah.
RADHE GOVINDA (INDRA, 2002)
Indra was an action drama starring Chiranjeevi as a simple taxi driver with a past. The songs were, unsurprisingly, an inseparable part of his narrative. Radhe Govinda’s song in particular stood out as Chiru added new life to Mani Sharma’s lifting music with her effortless moves. He was skilfully supported by Sonali Bendre. Indra emerged as a big hit at the box office.
AMMADU DOES KUMMUDU (KHAIDI NO 150, 2017)
Chiranjeevi returned to the big screen, after an eight-year hiatus, with Khaidi No 150. The film, a remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s Kaththi, featured Ammadu’s song Lets Do Kummudu. Chiru went back in time to show off her dancing skills and a new dimension to the song composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
BHALE BHALE BANJARA (ACHARYA, 2022)
While Acharya fell short of expectations at the box office, Bhale’s song Bhale Banjara proved to be a treat for Mega fans. He saw Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan set the screen on fire with their electrifying moves. Their chemistry was hard to miss. Acharya was directed by Koratala Siva.
Chiranjeevi hopes to add to that list with her next film GodFather.
