John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor-starring ‘Ek Villain Returns’ Wraps Filming | Movies News

Mumbai: Filmmaker Mohit Suri’s upcoming film “Ek Villain Returns” starring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, has been completed, the makers announced Thursday. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under his Balaji Telefilms banner and Bhushan Kumar’s T-series, the film is a sequel to Suri’s 2014 thriller “Ek Villain.”

Also starring Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria, the highly anticipated film was released last year and is set to be released nationwide on July 8, 2022. Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor says ‘Ek Villain’ is the ” most special flagship franchise” from Balaji.

“Now Ek Villain Returns” to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The idea is to make it bigger and wilder than his first opus. Given the nature of the genre, we have had to navigate through the pandemic and ensure we present a visual and exciting experience like never before,” she said in a statement.

Kumar said that unlike the first film, audiences will see double the thrills, action and drama with the sequel. “From the cast to the director to the entire crew, everyone working on this project was full of zeal and the set was full of energy and creative synergy. I’m sure like its witty prequel, ‘Ek Villain Returns’ will break all records,” added the producer.

Suri, the makers of movies like “Malang,” “Aashiqui 2,” and “Murder 2,” called “Ek Villain Returns” his dream project.

“It’s been an amazing journey from day one and we all had a great time. As we wrap up filming, I can’t wait to begin the next phase of production and have the audience watch the final product. J I had the best time working with the entire cast, and the same was reflected on screen,” added the director.

‘Ek Villain’ featured actors Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh. It followed the story of a husband tracking down a serial killer, responsible for the murder of his wife.
