MUMBAI: With theaters opening soon in Maharashtra, the release of Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut’s next action film, “Dhaakad”, has been announced on April 8, 2022. It was previously slated for release on October 1, 2021.
Produced on a large scale, the film was directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai and produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai. It’s a high octane spy thriller that also stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta along with a host of compelling actors.
Ranaut plays Agent Agni in the film which will see her bring up the layered subject of child trafficking and exploitation of women. Shot in Bhopal, Budapest and Bombay, the film’s first look sets the tone for a bloody, gritty and rhythmic thriller.
Speaking about the film’s release date, Ranaut said, “‘Dhaakad’ is the genre of film that is most appreciated on the big screens. It’s a deeply moving subject and we have made it on a scale that only theaters could do justice. The story at the heart of it has to touch the masses and I am sure the film will appeal to women at all levels. I look forward to the audience meeting Agent Agni on April 8. “
Ghai added, “‘Dhaakad’ is a special movie that will always have my heart. As a team, we wanted to do our best. My intention was to make ‘Dhaakad’ live up to the action.
