Netflix added 91 new movies and shows this week

It’s time again to take stock of what’s new on Netflix over the past week and take a look at what’s new over the weekend. Here’s everything new on Netflix for the week ending April 3, 2022.

New movies and shows you might have missed this week

Captain Nova (2021)

Kind: Adventure, Family, Science Fiction

Captain Nova, a new sci-fi family feature released in theaters at the end of 2021, is releasing worldwide this week from the Netherlands.

The film is compared to Lost in Space and received favorable reviews from audiences who watched the film and is now on Netflix.

Here’s what you can expect if you decide to give it a whirl:

“A fighter pilot from a desolate future unexpectedly transforms into her younger self as she travels through time on a mission to avert global catastrophe.”

shrek forever (2010)

Kind: Animation, Adventure, Comedy
Director: Michael Mitchell
To throw: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy

Duration: 93 minutes

It’s been a pretty good week for new kids content. You’ve got the new Netflix Original Apollo 10 1/2 movie that has a 90+ percent score on RottenTomatoes and a slew of licensed series have new seasons (CoComelon, Abby Hatcherand Polly pocket).

Perhaps the best news is that the third Shrek movie has landed on the service, which means you can now gorge on all three. Shrek films for the rest of April 2022 (the first two films are released in May).

heartland (Season 14)

Kind: Drama, Family
To throw: Amber Marshall, Shaun Johnston, Michelle Morgan
Writer: Murray Shostak
Duration: 45 minutes

We have given constant recommendations for heartland over the years and there is a good reason for that. The Canadian series continues to deliver season after season and although the United States is the last country to receive new seasons, it is one of the few countries where you can binge every previous season.

Here’s what you can expect from the show if you’ve never watched it before:

“Brave teenager Amy is reeling from her mother’s sudden death when she and her grandfather are threatened with losing their ranch.”

Season 15 of heartland recently ended its run in Canada and will be coming to Netflix US, but not until 2023.
