Prasoon Joshi’s mother, Sushma Joshi, breathed her last this morning (April 24). She was cremated at Ram Bagh Samshan Bhumi in Gurugram.

CBFC president and lyricist, Prasoon Joshi’s mother, Sushma Joshi, passed away this morning (April 24). A political science lecturer, Sushma Joshi has also worked with All India Radio for over three decades. Apart from that, she was also a classical singer.
Sushma Joshi’s family has released an official statement on her disappearance. The statement read, “With deep sorrow, we would like to inform of the passing of our beloved mother Smt Sushma Joshi in the early morning hours of April 24. Her light will continue to guide us always.”
The last rites of Sushma Joshi took place today, April 24, at Ram Bagh Samshan Bhumi in Gurugram.
The family will soon have a prayer meeting. And, the date and time of the prayer meeting will be communicated shortly. The note further read, “Your thoughts and prayers will give us strength and comfort at this difficult time.”
Prasoon Joshi shot to fame with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lajja and didn’t have to look back after that. From Fanaa to Rang De Basanti, from Taare Zameen Par to Black, from Delhi 6 to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Prasoon Joshi’s filmography is dotted with illustrious and highly acclaimed films. And this illustrious list of accomplishments led Prasoon Joshi to the chairmanship of the head of the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC). He replaced Pahlaj Nihalani as head of CBFC in 2017.
