On January 14, citizens across the country celebrate Sankranti from the comfort of their homes. In Tamil Nadu, today marks the second day of the four-day harvest festival. Rajinikanth, Jr NTR and the RRR team took to social media to deliver their well wishes to their followers. Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, celebrations are low-key this year.

Superstar Rajinikanth celebrated his birthday on December 12, 2021 at his home. On January 14, Thalaivar took to Twitter to wish fans the occasion and also asked his fans to take care of their health during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
His message in Tamil read: “We are going through difficult and scary times. Covid-19 cases are increasing with each passing day. We must follow all safety protocols to save ourselves. There is nothing above the health. My sincere Pongal wishes all people.”
