Rocketry star R Madhavan turned down Suriya’s Ghajini. here’s why

R Madhavan is enjoying the success of his recently released movie, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Recently, he hosted an Instagram live session with his best friend Suriya. During the live session, Madhavan said he rejected Ghajini as he was unimpressed with the second half of the film. Later, Ghajini was offered to Suriya and it became one of the biggest hits.

HERE’S WHY MADHAVAN REFUSED GHAJINI

Madhavan made his directorial debut with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. He hosted an Instagram live session with actor Suriya. For the uninitiated, Suriya had a cameo role in Rocketry. He appeared as himself in the film.

During the live session, Madhavan said that AR Murugadoss offered Ghajini to him, which he rejected as he did not like the second half of the film. He said, “I told AR Murugadoss sir that I didn’t like the second half of the movie. Ghajini went to see many heroes and finally came to you. I was very happy. I had seen you at Kaakha Kaakha and I felt that Ghajini finally went to the right person.”

He then appreciated Suriya for working hard for his role in the film. “I saw how hard you worked to get your abs. I was ashamed to become complacent after giving a few punches. I remember you didn’t eat salt for a week to maintain your physique Seeing the hard work you put in” made me question myself and felt like I wasn’t doing my career justice. Only then did I begin to apply the advice I gave you. After Ghajini, your career was catapulted,” Madhavan added.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Ghajini stars Suriya, Asin, Nayanthara, Pradeep Rawat and Riyaz Khan in the lead roles. The film follows the story of a man who suffers from short term memory loss. The film became one of the biggest blockbusters in 2005. Later, it was remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan reprising the role of Suriya.
