“The Man of the Steppes”, a film by Azerbaijani filmmaker Shamil Aliyev, continues its resounding success abroad.
The film was nominated for the Goddess Nike Award at the Gold Movie Awards Film Festival. The awards ceremony will take place in London on January 11.
“The Steppe Man” tells the story of a young man from the steppes who lives far from the city, closely linked to nature. His father teaches him the intricacies of life on the steppe. Shortly after the death of his father, the young man meets a girl from a town. Their meeting becomes a new page in his life, a step towards a great life that was not familiar to him before.
The film has already participated in nearly 30 international film festivals and forums and has received numerous awards.
The film was awarded “For the reality of fairy tales” at the DIDOR International Film Festival -2012, “For creative research” at the International Telekinoforuma “Ensemble” -2013, Uluslararası Van Gölü Film Festivalı -2014, Rainbow Film Festival – 2014 , “Platinum Awards” at the International Movie Awards -2014, Noida International Film Festival-2015 and others.
It was named Best in the “Best Feature Film” nomination at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival in India on December 5-6, 2017.
The Steppe Man was also included in the American Cinema Academy OSCAR-2014 shortlist for the “Best Foreign Language Film” nomination.
Creative work for the film was carried out by screenwriter Vidadi Hasanov, cinematographer Rafig Guliyev, production designers Rafig Nasirov and Ibrahim Khalil Aminov, composer Rauf Aliyev and producers Mushvig Hatamov and Azer Guliyev.
The movie stars are Bahruz Vagifoglu, Vidadi Hasanov, Javidan Mammadov, Salome Demuria, Vusal Mehraliyev and others.
The Gold Movie Awards are a monthly and annual independent film festival.
The selected films as well as the winners will receive a golden laurel wreath, which can be used in advertising material.
At the end of the year, the winning film will be invited to our annual live screening event. The live screening venue for 2018 will be the “Canada Water Culture Center Theater” in London.
