The best new movies and shows to stream on Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Apple TV+, Peacock, Disney+ and Mubi this weekend

If you’re like me, you have multiple subscriptions to multiple different streaming platforms, all of which are constantly adding new movies. Which begs the question with each successive weekend: what am I watching?

For me, it helps to have all these new movies in one place. So, in this article, I’m going to review the biggest new movies on major streaming platforms, including Netflix.

Halloween ends (peacock)

Four years after her last encounter with masked killer Michael Myers, Laurie Strode is living with her granddaughter and trying to finish her memoir. Myers has not been seen since, and Laurie finally decides to free herself from rage and fear and embrace life. However, when a young man is framed for the murder of a boy he was babysitting, it unleashes a cascade of violence and terror that forces Laurie to confront evil she cannot control.

The New Mutants (Disney+)

Five teenage mutants undergo treatment at a secret institution that will cure them of their dangerous powers. Invited by Dr. Cecilia Reyes to share their stories, their memories quickly turn into terrifying realities as they begin to wonder why they are being held and who is trying to destroy them.

Shantaram (Apple TV+)

Fugitive Lin Ford seeks to get lost in chaotic 1980s Bombay; Alone in an unfamiliar town, Lin struggles to stay out of trouble but falls in love with an enigmatic woman and must choose between freedom and love and the complications that come with it.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow (Netflix)

A man and his daughter must team up to save their town after an ancient and mischievous spirit brings Halloween decorations to life and wreaks havoc.

Rosaline (Hulu)

A variant of Shakespeare’s classic love story Romeo and Juliet, told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin, Rosaline (Kaitlyn Dever), who also happens to be Romeo’s recent love interest. Heartbroken when Romeo (Kyle Allen) meets Juliet (Isabela Merced) and begins to pursue her, Rosaline plans to foil the famous romance and win her man back.

Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! (HBO)

Scooby and the gang spring into action when menacing ghosts threaten to ruin Halloween for everyone.

Earwig (Mubi)

A 50-year-old babysitter is employed to care for a 10-year-old girl. His most important task is to maintain his dentures which are made of ice and must be changed several times a day.
