Trisha has started dubbing for director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. She plays the role of Kundavai in the director’s period film.

Trisha has started dubbing for her parts in director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. The actress took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo from the dubbing sequel. You can see the microphone placed in front of the television which has visuals of the film being played. Ponniyin Selvan, which is directed in two parts, is a period drama adapted from the Tamil literary novel of the same name.


Trisha recently finished filming Ponniyin Selvan with Karthi and the rest of the crew. The last schedule took place in the forts of Madhya Pradesh. Photos and videos of the shooting team have leaked to social media and have gone viral.

On October 9, Trisha took to Instagram Stories to reveal that she had started doubling down for her portions at Ponniyin Selvan. Since this is a period film, Trisha will need to speak pure Tamil. She captioned the post, “Dear Sentamizh .. sigh (sic),” with a heart and music note emoji.

As previously stated, Ponniyin Selvan is based on the Tamil novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The film will be produced in two parts, the first part being released in theaters in 2022. Ponniyin Selvan’s screenplay is jointly written by Mani Ratnam, Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan.

The ensemble cast of Ponniyin Selvan includes Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Sarathkumar in prominent roles. Post-production work on the film continues at a steady pace.
