Tamil veteran actor Poo Ramu died on June 27 (Monday) at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Chennai. He was 60 years old. On Friday June 24, he suffered a massive cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital. Although he was treated for a few days, he died on Monday. His mortal remains were kept at his residence in Urapakkam as a tribute.

POO RAMU dies on June 27

Poo Ramu was last seen in Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad. He was a film actor and street theater artist.

On the evening of June 27, Poo Ramu died in a government hospital after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. Her last rites will take place on Tuesday, June 28. More details are awaited.

CHIEF MINISTER MK STALIN CONDONES POO RAMU’S DEATH

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has offered his condolences to Poo Ramu’s family. In his statement, MP Stalin pointed out that Ramu was a street artist who reached out to people on left-wing ideology. Udhayanidhi Stalin had also paid tribute to Poo Ramu by visiting him in the hospital.

Ramu shot to fame in 2008 after playing an important role in director Sasi’s Poo which was released in 2008. Since then he was affectionately referred to as Poo Ramu by filmmakers and fans alike. After Poo, Ramu gave strong performances in films like Neerparavai, Pariyerum Perumal and Nedunaalvaadai.
